- We must run a credit check to qualify them for service. Credit will determine if they can lease their equipment or if they will need to purchase their equipment.
- Any upfront fees and the 1st months bill will be charged at the time of placing the ordering.
- 24 month agreement term.
- System is fully warrantied during the 2-year contract period.
- Hughesnet does not work with Voice Over IP phone systems, but customers can get Hughes Voice for an additional fee.
- The service can be put on vacation for up to 60 days at a time.
- Movers program starts at $150.
- Techs will set up a computer network for $59.
EARLY TERMINATION FEES
Lease:
- Cancellation WITHIN 30 days: $99 Upfront Fee is forfeited, and $300 Unreturned Equipment Fee is charged if equipment is not returned within
21 days of cancellation date. - AFTER 30 days: Up to $400 service termination fee, $99 Upfront Fee is forfeited, and $300 Unreturned Equipment Fee is charged if equipment is not returned within 21 days of cancellation date.
- AFTER 24-month commitment: $300 Unreturned Equipment Fee is charged if equipment is not returned within 21 days of cancellation date.
Purchase:
- Cancellation WITHIN 30 days: No service termination fee. No refund of installation fee.
- AFTER 30 days: Up to $400 service termination fee.
INTERNET BUZZ WORDS
MBPS: Stands for “Megabits Per Second.” One megabit is equal to one million bits or 1,000 kilobits. This typically refers to the size of a file a computer user may be trying to download.
KBPS: Stands for “Kilobits Per Second.” This typically refers to the size of a file a computer user may be trying to upload or access online.
MB: Stands for “Mega Bit.”
Download: This is the process in which data is sent to your computer. Whenever you receive information from the Internet, you are downloading it to your computer. For example, you might have to download an upgrade for your computer’s operating system in order to play a new game. Or you might download a demo version of a program you are thinking about buying from the software company’s Web site. The opposite of this process, sending information to another computer, is called uploading.
Upload: While downloading is receiving a file from another computer, uploading is the exact opposite. It is sending a file from your computer to another system. Because most files are located on Internet servers, people generally do a lot more downloading than uploading.
VOIP: Stands for “Voice Over Internet Protocol.” VoIP is basically a telephone connection over the Internet. The data is sent digitally, using the Internet Protocol (IP) instead of analog telephone lines. This allows people to talk to one another long-distance and around the world without having to pay long distance or international phone charges. In order to use VoIP, you need a computer, an Internet connection, and VoIP software.
IP: Or “Internet Protocol” refers to the Internet Protocol number which is like a house address or phone number for your computer.
Hotspot: (Also called Wi-Fi.) A hotspot is a place that offers Internet access over a wireless local network. This means that a computer user can connect to that places (usually a store, coffee shop, etc…) Internet and use it while they are at that location. CLEAR is revolutionizing the industry by giving it s customer s a personal Hotspot meaning Internet follows that person wherever they go.
Device: Any electronic component, such as a computer, printer, router, switch, modem, PDA, etc. For CLEARS purpose a device is a computer / laptop.
Static IP: Some computer users need a Static IP address depending on their needs (this usually is only needed by businesses or people using the internet to work at home.
